Very thoughtful service. The one thing I wish I had known beforehand is that it works best if you bring a rough list of what you think you have. We spent a bit of time working that out first, which was fine, but I could have prepared better. Three Paths Through Bequesta
Each person arrived at a different stage and with a different question. Here is what happened next.
The Challenge
No Idea Where to Start
A retired British expat in her 60s had been living in Bangkok for over a decade. She had some documents at home, some things in the UK, and no clear picture of what was where. She had mentioned it to her children but found the topic shut down quickly.
The Path
Workshop, Then Inventory
She attended a Gentle Beginnings Workshop, which gave her a vocabulary for the conversation and a clearer sense of what she actually needed to locate. Six weeks later she booked the Wishes & Documents Inventory service and worked through two sessions with Nanthawan to build her folder.
The Outcome
A Folder and a Solicitor
She completed her inventory folder and, using the referral list provided, made contact with a Bangkok-based solicitor for the matters that needed professional input. Her assessment: "I came in overwhelmed. I left with a folder and a next step. That's everything I needed."
The Challenge
A Father Who Would Not Talk
A Thai man in his 40s attended the Gentle Beginnings Workshop after years of failed attempts to open a conversation with his aging father. Cultural dynamics made the subject particularly difficult to raise directly.
The Path
Language and Framing
The workshop helped him understand how to shift the framing of the conversation — away from what happens after death, toward the more neutral subject of document organisation. He also joined the Compassion Membership to keep thinking through the topic over the following months.
The Outcome
A Different Kind of Conversation
He reported in a follow-up that his father had agreed to a "document sorting afternoon" which had led, naturally, to a broader conversation. "It was the word 'organising' that unlocked it. Not 'planning' — just organising. The workshop gave me that."

A woman in her early 50s had recently lost her mother and was left managing an unclear picture of what her mother had owned, where documents were, and what she had wanted. She came to Bequesta partly for help, partly to make sure her own affairs would not leave her children in the same position.

She went directly to the Wishes & Documents Inventory and found the structured approach helpful — it did not ask her to process anything emotionally, just to record and locate. She later joined the Compassion Membership for the community dimension.

Clarity and Community
She described the inventory session as "the most practical thing I did in those first months." The membership gave her a space to continue processing the experience alongside others. She also made use of the professional referral list for matters requiring a notary.
